Resolution 2523 (2020)
Adopted by the Security Council on 29 May 2020
The Security Council,
Reaffirming all its previous resolutions and presidential statements concerning the situation in Sudan and underlining the importance of full compliance with and implementation of these,
Reaffirming its strong commitment to the sovereignty, unity, independence and territorial integrity of Sudan,
Determining that the situation in Sudan constitutes a threat to international peace and security,
Acting under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations,
1. Decides that the African Union-United Nations Mission Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) shall maintain its current troop and police ceilings until 3 June 2020, and further decides that during this period UNAMID shall maintain all team sites for mandate implementation;
2. Expresses its intention to decide by 3 June 2020, courses of action regarding the responsible drawdown and exit of UNAMID, and further expresses its intention to adopt a new resolution at the same time, establishing a follow-on presence to UNAMID;
3. Decides to remain seized of the matter.
