Abstract

Resolution 2711 (2023)
Adopted by the Security Council at its 9477th meeting, on 15 November 2023
The Security Council,
Recalling all its previous resolutions and statements of its President concerning the situation in Somalia,
Determining that the situation in Somalia continues to constitute a threat to international peace and security,
Acting under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations,
1. Reaffirms resolution 2662 (2022);
2. Decides to renew the provisions set out in paragraphs 15 and 17 of resolution 2182 (2014), and expanded by paragraph 5 of resolution 2607 (2021) to cover IED components, until 1 December 2023;
3. Recalls paragraph 44 of resolution 2662 (2022), decides to renew the mandate of the Panel of Experts until 31 December 2023, and expresses its intention to review the mandate of the Panel of Experts and take appropriate action regarding any extension and modification of this mandate, including restrictions on the import of weapons and ammunition by the Federal Government of Somalia, no later than 1 December 2023;
4. Decides to remain actively seized of the matter.
